Pure bliss is the motto on the varied skiing and carving pistes of Gastein. Skiers, carvers and snowboarders will not be disappointed in the winter sport region of the Gastein valley: five extensive ski areas reaching altitudes of 2700m above sea level, demanding powder and mogul runs, carving areas (permanent carving area in Sportgastein) plus endless freerides – no chance to get bored.

Beginners as well as experts find perfect conditions on 201km of groomed pistes – with differing grades of difficulty: 60km beginners, 117km advanced and 24km expert.

Visitors can choose among the Graukogel, where world championships have been held, the interconnecting ski areas Stubnerkogel-Angertal-Schlossalm, Dorfgastein-Großarl and the high alpine Sportgastein. The altitude and large areas covered by snowmaking equipment guarantee snow cover from end of November to end of April.
